Overview

Gita is designed with privacy as a core principle. Everything stays on your device.

Data Collection

Gita does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party services.

No Account

Gita has no sign-in and no account of any kind. Nothing identifies you to anyone, because nothing about you leaves your device.

Local Storage

Your bookmarks, reading progress, streaks, goals and settings are stored in a database on your device. They are used only to show you your own reading. They are never uploaded or shared. Resetting your progress in the app deletes them, and deleting the app removes them entirely.

Notifications

The daily verse reminder is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, the reminder is scheduled locally by your device. No notification is sent from a server, and nothing is reported back.

Widgets

The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read the verses and progress the app has written into a shared container on your device. Data flows only from the app to the widget, never off the device.

Network Access

The entire text of the Gita ships inside the app. Gita makes no network calls in ordinary use. Sharing a verse hands the text or image to whichever app you choose in the system share sheet — what happens next is governed by that app’s own policy.

Third-Party Services

Gita does not use any third-party services, SDKs or APIs. There are no ads and no analytics.

Children’s Privacy

Gita does not collect any data from any users, including children.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
